Another year, another birthday and in the blink of four twinkling eyes I am now the mother of four year old twins. We spent a lovely Sunday celebrating their birthday but instead of a grand expensive party, we decided to host an intimate brunch with close family.
Olive requested purple and pink balloons and Ziggy is forever known as our “silly goose” so I decided at the last minute to create a theme: a Silly Goose Birthday Brunch, adorned with all the geese and or course, pink and purple balloons.

The menu was simple. We had tons of mixed fruit, bacon (per Olive’s request), bagels and cream cheese from Holey City Bagels (per Ziggy’s request) and the night before I prepped my infamous French toast casserole and a new to me recipe: caprese inspired hash brown casserole which ended up being really delicious. Desserts included premade birthday cake from Whole Foods and lemon squares from Trader Joes.

A few tips on decorating: I attached the balloons to the ceiling with tape to give the affect of floating balloons without the need for helium. I would have preferred clear tape but they were having a hard time sticking due to our popcorn ceilings. Duct tape did the job but next time I might try glue dots as well. The duck decals were fun to decorate and add bows and hats and ribbon to give a fun three dimensional look and I love the way it turned out and might even leave it up after the party is over! Flowers were from Trader Joes and I created little table menus on Canva. And that’s all she wrote. Simple but perfect!

What great ideas. I’m sure the kids loved it.
