Every spring here in Charleston the roses begin to bloom filling gates and fences with intertwining vines, thorns, and petals in the prettiest dark and light pink hues. The twins are now two years old and life is even more chaotic and busier than it was before. But sometimes we have to remind ourselves, even in the middle of the chaos, we should still stop and smell the roses.
My favorite places in Charleston to see roses in late April/early May are the rose pavilion at Hampton Park, Colonial lake along the Rutledge avenue side, and along the gates/brick walls on South Battery Street.
