My trip to Paris this spring was an absolute dream. The weather was perfect, the flowers were in bloom, and croissants somehow seemed ever more buttery than I remembered. This trip was especially meaningful as it was the first time I have ever left my children home with my husband and traveled across the ocean with a friend. It was a big decision but all the anxiety I felt leading up to this trip faded the second I walked through the doors of our beautiful, charming, perfect apartment.
Our apartment was located in the 15th Arrondissement which is a very popular and trendy residential area and although it does not house any of the overtly popular Paris attractions, it is centrally located to some a few major train stations including the Metro Line 6 (which if you sit on the right side, you get stunning views of the Eiffel tower over the river). Our apartment was also walking distance to Montparnasse, one of my favorite neighborhoods for shopping and dining. On our first day we had an amazing lunch at Bread & Roses followed by shopping at the most darling children’s boutique L’Île aux Fées and finishing up with a walk around through the Jardin du Luxembourg before headed back to our apartment to rest and change for the evening.
When I originally started shopping around for Airbnbs and vacation rentals, I had it in my mind that I needed to have an apartment with a terrace window, one that I could fling open the shutters and hear and see the sights and sounds of Paris as I sipped on my morning cappuccino. This apartment not only had a terrace window but THREE of them: one in the living room, the dining room, and the master bedroom.
In my opinion, the hardest part of traveling is nailing down the perfect place to stay. So let me do the work for you and just go straight to this AirBnb for your next trip to Paris. A great option for any couple or two girlfriends visiting the City of Light! And stick around because there is much more Paris content still to come!
