Every year I tell myself to just buy the premade Valentine Day cards for Liam’s class and call it a day. How easy would that be?
So I headed to the Dollar Store to do just that and stumbled upon packs of little Lego figurines. Liam has been obsessed with Legos ever since Christmas so I suddenly had a change of heart and decided that once again we would make our own Valentines, this time using Legos!
And it ended up being so easy and turned out really cute if I do say so myself!
First step was to create a template with the typography but of course you could always handwrite these. I have saved the template as a JPEG image for anyone who needs last minute cards or would like to try it in the future! Just print at home on card stock size 8×10 paper and cut into four separate cards. Heres the template you can save:
The next step was to add the Lego figurines. We had some foam heart stickers laying around so we added those behind our Legos but you can easily skip this step.
To add your Legos you can use glue dots (which I did not have on hand), a hot glue gun, or tie them on with some fun string or baker’s twine as we decided to do. Just poke small holes on each side and tie on tight!
Next I had Liam sign his name to all the cards (all 18 of them and he only started complaining around card number 5!) And voila you are done! Easy peasy.
I had the cardstock, printer ink, stickers, and twine all on hand so I only spent a few dollars on knock off Lego figurines (they are generic brand “Legos” at our local Dollar Tree). Here are some you can easily purchase online and are the original name brand Legos.
Some other fun Lego “puns” that would be cute on cards are:
“Hey Valentine, we really click”
“Valentine, let’s build something together”
“We are built to be friends!”
“You stole a piece of my heart”
“Valentine, I would walk across Legos for you!”
Ok that’s enough of that. But I do love a good holiday themed pun so if you have any others, send them my way! Happy card making and I hope you all have a lovely Valentines Day! xxoo Priscilla
Pretty! This has been an incredibly wonderful post. Thank you for supplying this info. Heather Fabio Mojgan
