It’s the end of another beautiful school year and time for end of year teacher gifts! I saw the idea to give an “If You Give a Teacher a Cookie” book filled with little gifts and gift cards on each page. The only problem is I couldn’t find a link of where to purchase the book. So of course, in typical Priscilla fashion, I decided to do it myself! And of course, because we don’t gate keep around here, I will share the tutorial and printable pages I created for this project! So here we go…
Supplies You Will Need
- an old recycled 6×6 board book
- Printable Sticker paper (or optional card stock paper)
- glue stick (only IF you choose to use card stock instead of sticker paper)
- a color printer (or print at a print shop)
- a paper cutter or scissors
- one individually wrapped cookie
- three gift cards: one coffee shop, one shopping store, and one restaurant
- hair ties
- a bracelet
- a face sheet mask
- chapstick or sunscreen stick
- a drink packet (or optional another gift card to another beverage or coffee shop)
- a chocolate bar (or optional other snack that would fit inside a book)
- hot glue gun for attaching gift cards/gifts into the book
how to assemble your book:
- Prep your recycled board book first by carefully peeling off the top layer of the cover that has the cover image/design. This step is optional but I think it helps give a cleaner look and prevents the image from leaking through. Most board books this is easy to do, just start in the corner.
- Print the below attached images, printed to SCALE at 100% (This will give you 6×6 square images of the pages centered on the 8×11.5 paper). You should have 12 total pages printed, one image per page..
- Use a paper cutter or scissors to cut off the access margins from all four sides.
- If you printed on sticker paper, remove the back of the sticker and carefully apply to the book.
- If you used regular cardstock paper, now use an Elmers glue stick to glue the pages onto the book. I do not recommend white glue or hot glue as the paper end up bumpy.
- Use a small amount of hot glue to attach the gift cards/ gifts to each page.
The following images can all be saved and then printed at your home printer or sent to a print shop. Right click and save!
Enjoy! xx Priscilla
Wow, great idea. If you don’t have children, or they’re not in school, you could customize to aunt, mom, granny, friend, or whatever. Thank you. You always have such wonderful ideas.
