It’s been awhile since I posted a Buy or DIY blog post but I am back with a fun one. And this was so easy to do, I didn’t even pull out my sewing machine.
During the Super Bowl last month, my friends and I couldn’t stop talking about Taylor Swift’s outfit. The black corset, the gold 87 necklace, the classic red lips that matched her Chief’s jacket perfectly, and of course those bejeweled black denim pants. The pants are from the brand Area, and despite being $695 they sold out in only hours of Taylor’s Super Bowl appearance, further demonstrating the impact this woman has on the economy!
So I decided to make a pair of my own jeweled back denim pants inspire by Taylor Swift. Here’s how it went.
Supplies You Need:
I don’t know if bejeweled black denim is my style but these were so easy to do and would be really fun to wear to the Era’s tour, Halloween party, or any other Taylor Swift themed get together. First Step: first thing you are going to do is mark where you will make the cut on the jeans. I stared at the photo of the jeans for hours and marked my pants with chalk both laying flat and also when trying on the pants before I finally cute. Tip 2: Make sure when you go to cut your jeans you are only cutting through the front and not the back of the jean. I then used some iron on interfacing on the inside of the jeans to hold the cut out in place and to add a little more stability for adding the rhinestones. The final step is to simply glue on your rhinestones and then you are good to go!
