Being a risk taker to some people means going sky diving, solo hiking the Pacific Coast trail, or telling your crush how you really feel. For me it means wearing all white when you have two boys under the age of 4.
Although we have nowhere special to go as of yet, it feels good to run a comb through my hair, slap on some mascara, and wear my favorite white dress, even if it’s only for the boys to drool and throw goldfish on.
Last March my family and I were supposed to be in Washington DC for vacation. I was so excited that our trip would have coincided with the annual cherry blossom bloom at the Tidal Basin. Of course, due to COVID-19, our trip was cancelled, along with many other events around the world. Trying to make lemons into lemonade, we found some gorgeous cherry blossoms in bloom in our neighborhood this spring and for a few minutes we pretended to be on vacation for a few minutes.
I bought this dress last spring from Gal Meets Glam and I recently saw that they have restocked it again for this year. I have a few Gal Meets Glam dresses in my closet but this white dress, the Angela, has been my favorite of them all. The buttons down the front are functional for breast feeding, the linen material is lightweight for spring and summer but thick enough that it’s not see-through, the midi length is perfect for squatting down and picking up a child or two, and the white is perfect blank canvas for coordinating with pink flowers and trees… which is my new favorite activity.
If you are looking for a little white dress to add to your repertoire, this dress would be a good place to start. And even if your life revolves around sticky fingers and orange slurpee drinks, it’s worth the risk.
During this photo, it started raining cherry blossom petals. Then it started raining real rain, so we ran back home just in time for left over spaghetti and ice cream. Spoiler alert, i actually DID change out of my dress prior to eating the spaghetti.
