I am so excited about my new bag and excited that starting the end of this month I will be teaching a sewing class at a local fabric store in Charleston, Five Eighth Seams! So for all of you Charleston locals who are looking for a new sewing project and don’t know where to start or looking for some light humor on a Tuesday night, I’m your gal. Five Eighth Seams teaches basic beginners classes, kids sewing camps, Sewing 101, ect. But in addition they do several project classes targeting a specific pattern or garment. They recently started carrying all the Sew Sweetness bag patterns. Sara from Sew Sweetness loves designing bags and her love shows as she has the best bag patterns and her instructions are so well written and easy to follow. I decided to make the Bye Bye Love bag as I thought maybe the larger size might double as a neat diaper bag for the future plus the pattern comes with two bags in one: a large and a small. For the inside fabric I used my favorite new print from the Bound Collection by April Rhodes for Art Gallery Fabrics. I knew that since I wanted to do something solid for the outside, it would be fun to use a pop of color on the inside. And I have been dying to cut into this fabric ever since I got it (I actually bought three yards and I have my eye on two yards of the knit too. So I hope my husband likes it. Because he’s about to see this print all up in our house). 
I am not sure the name of the exterior fabric and the handle fabric. I bought it sooooo long ago from the fabric store and it didn’t have a label on the selvage. But its a thick linen blend and a nice light gray color.

Adding the hardware and zipper was actually the easiest part. I did have a little trouble with pleated pocket. I think I may have rushed through it, in combination with my ever growing exhaustion lately and my mind being in three different places, I didn’t do my best work and it looks just a tad amateur. But I decided not to re-do them and just enjoy the fact that I made something a little perfectly imperfect that I did all by myself without any help. Hows that for a silver lining?!
Love the interior pockets! Any way for me to stash more junk makes for a better bag, in my opinion! 
I did change up the handles just a tad and decided to leave them flat instead of skinny folded handles. I felt this was just more of my taste and would be more comfortable on the shoulders. I also used rectangle rings instead of round rings, again just due to taste preference. Otherwise I followed the pattern as is and had no difficulty with the instructions.
So here is my new everyday bag/tote bag/diaper bag/barre class bag/large purse! I love a bag with a thousand different purposes. And again, join me at Five Eighth Seams starting September 29th if you want some help/entertainment while you tackle making this bag for yourself!
