With all the hustle and bustle of the weekend I ALMOST forgot to share my Valentines Day inspired kimono. Or as our cousin Chris called it “my mumu.” Yeah, yeah so I guess the humungous sleeves are not very sexy or form fitting but I was really wanting a cozy and flowy top for this weekend. I saw this fabric during my last trip to Five Eighth Seams and I instantly feel in love. The Art Gallery knits are so soft and have a great drape. Paired with 3 yards of some heart shaped lace trim, it seemed like the perfect choice for a new kimono. I have used the SewCaroline kimono pattern before (seen here) and I love how quick I was able to whip this up using my serger and my blind hem foot. This pattern is great for anyone who is wanting to dip their feet in the world of sewing with knits.
