Happy Halloween from the Eras Tour (the Brown family driveway version)!
I have had the best time watching videos of all the different outfits both Taylor and all the fans wear to the Eras Tour but I have had such a hard time choosing my favorite. So instead of picking just one, I decided to bring all the Eras to life with a little help from my family (and my trusty sewing machine) and it ended up being so much fun to create!
Here’s a quick look into my mood board I created and then a breakdown of all the outfits.
you and me we have a big
Reputation
This was an easy one to put together. I knew we had to include the iconic green snake that is so well known from the Reputation tour and pair it with a solid black outfit. Bear wore leggings from Old Navy and this black long sleeve waffle shirt and we wrapped this 80 inch long stuffed snack around his neck and torso. I had big plans to sew a snake from scratch but this was affordable and a much easier option.
and they said…
Speak Now!
Olive’s outfit was my favorite of the group. I knew the moment I saw Taylor come out in her new Speak Now era dress (lovingly referred to as her “cupcake dress” by fans) I knew Olive had to have it. I started out with this leotard as my base and then bought other color fabric and tulle from the fabric store to add the layers. She wore a hoop skirt underneath to give it that enchanting volume and then these little ballet flats to finish the outfit.
meet me at
Midnights
For a Midnights Era you need anything sparkly! Technically Taylor wears a blue tassel leotard (similar to this one) but when mine arrived in the mail I looked riduculous and though there is now I can pull this off. so instead I went with a Bejeweled corset similar to the one she wore in the Bejeweled music video paired with these high waisted shorts and old brown boots that I hand painted midnight blue and spray painted with silver spray paint.
My name is taylor and I was born in
1989
1989 era is another one I thought could go a bunch of different ways but in the end I decided not to ask to much of my seven year old so we went with a graphic tee I made on my printer displaying Taylor’s new 1989 album cover and then this Statue of Liberty hat to honor Welcome To New York.
it’s
Fearless
I knew the Fearless era needed an iconic gold tassel dress. I had originally hoped Olive would go as Fearless but alas I could not find a fixed 2T gold tassel dress anywhere so I ordered this one for myself (for only $37), borrowed my dads acoustic guitar, and then bought cowboy boots from the thrift store and painted them gold with sparkles.
Loving him was
RED!
I need to share the behind the scenes footage on Instagram of me telling Will to not just wear the scarf but “to BE the scarf.” I made his using 4 yards of fleece fabric from the fabric store and a handful of red yarn. The glasses were a last minute addition and you can find them here.
into
folklore
You can embody forklore without wearing a chunky knit cardigan. I found this one at our local consignment store but I also love this one and this one. I made him an “August” calendar to hold for obvious reasons and then just jeans and a tee that he already had in his closet and these branches in the background to emulate the cover of the folklore album. Some birch trees would of been nice but you know, you get what you can get.
Lover
I went back and forth about how to do the Lover era because there are so many great options (Me music video, Need to Calm Down video, the Man music video, and the list goes on). But in the end we decided on Ms Americana and the Heartbreak Prince. Liam really is our Mr America and such a sweet heart so it made perfect sense. We bought this prince crown, I made a sash from ribbon at the fabric store and he just wore pants and a dress shirt from his closet. Don’t forget to draw a pink heart around your eye too. We used lipstick for which I had to promise him two donuts but it worked out in the end.
it’s
evermore
If you dont understand why Bear is standing backwards, you have to go goggle the album cover for evermore and it will all make sense. For this era I simply paired some blue jeans with this kids “shacket” we found in stores and then plopped some evergreen trees next to him for the photo. Easy enough!
