Summer has come to an end. And as we all begin to pull our sweaters, henleys, and blue jeans from the closet in dreadful hesitation since a summer of croissants and cheesecake has us wondering if those jeans will even fit this year, we bid farewell to our summer wardrobe.
Our summer in France had some of the highest record temperatures for July and I was happy to have packed a suitcase full of light, breezy, linen dresses. Paired the dresses with comfortable walking sneakers or sandals and it’s all you need. (unless you plant to exercise or work out on vacation, which I hear is a thing people do).

Linen Midi Dress for a day trip to Gassin
Floral Maxi Skirt on the streets of Nice
The next day I wore this blue floral maxi to chase my children as they chased pigeons around Nice. Perfect skirt for under $34. I am always hesitant to order clothes for Amazon but the quality of this one wasn’t too bad, and you can’t beat that price.
Floral Dress for the flower market in La Garde Frienet
I don’t normally wear yellow, but the print of this Tuckernuck dress just felt meant to be. I wore this with the family as we walked around the farmers market in La Garde Freinet. There are just a couple left of this dress but it has been marked down about half off!
Lace + Flutter Sleeves in Monte Carlo
Although we did not hit up the casino or do anything elegant at all on this very hot day sight seeing in Monaco, an all white lace dress still felt appropriate. The fit of this dress is perfection and despite being lace it has very good stretch to it and looks very chic but wears like an everyday throw-on cotton tee shirt. A few sizes left in the limited edition lace print but also comes in tulle, silk, crepe, and their classic cotton Ellie dress.
Bright Prints for Saint Tropez
This dress would be perfect for a wedding and it is definitely a little more dressy for a simple day of sight seeing, but you know, when in Saint Tropez you go big! In fact when I came down stairs that morning both Will and my mom collectively said “whoa” which I think meant “whoa you are overdressed” but alas I carried on and it was perfect for a day in the city. This is again from Hill house but unlike the smaller sleeve in the Ellie dress, this Daphne dress has bigger sleeves and a fitted bodice with a zipper.
More Linen for Saint Paul de Vence
This is my favorite dress of all time and I am so glad I grabbed one before it went on sale. This print, the Madeline print, has sold out but again you can find so many other great linen pieces on Reformations site that I know you will love. They are a higher price point but the quality is spectacular and you will wear it year after year.
