This weekend we stepped out for a belated anniversary date night and don’t let these photos fool you, this is not my house. But this city sure is beautiful. And it was so nice to get dressed up and head into the city for a dinner just Will and I without the kids.
I wore my fancy shoes and a real bra, I didn’t have applesauce in my hair, and my very small purse does not contain diapers cream or snacks. I felt very free but also like something was missing. Very happy but also a little sad. Not a care in the world but also worried sick that the babysitter will call me at any moment. And most importantly, without a stroller or a child on my hip, i have absolutely no idea what i am supposed to do with my arms when i walk.
Our itinerary included some of our old faithful, favorite spots. In a city that thrives on food and beverage and tourism, there are so many great new spots but sometimes you just go back to what feels right. And also Will and I forgot to make reservations so we went where we knew walk-ins were accepted!
