In our house Valentine’s Day is EXTRA special and we start celebrating early, practically on the first day of February. It’s not that we are really into pink hearts and romantic nostalgia, but instead we have not one but TWO birthdays on Valentine’s Day. This year my dinosaur obsessed kindergartener Liam turns six and my sweet, cuddly not-a-baby-anymore, Bear turns three.
So when your birthday falls on Valentine’s Day you have to go all out with your cards. But going all out doesn’t mean you have to break the bank. Instead we like to make the cards ourselves, we always include a fun toy instead of candy, and we choose something that brings out the boys’ different personalities each year. This is what we came up with for this year’s cards:
Supplies you will need include: card stock, glue dots or a hot glue gun, and baker’s twine. I glued the dinosaurs but used the twine for the bears. Just place your bear in the center, poke two small holes on each side of him with a pencil, thread the twine through the holes and around the bear’s belly, and tie on tight! For the bears I ordered these little bears and for the dinos these 1.5 inch dinosaurs.
Here are the two JPEG image you can right click, save, and print at home for your own use!

And for the Dino lovers in your life:
Tips For Printing: Use white 8.5×11 card stock. Set your printer paper size to US Letter or 8.5×11 and elect “Scale to Fit” and “Fill entire page.” You will have four cards printed per page. Just use a paper cutter or scissors to cut. And voila! If you do not have a color printer, just upload to FedEx Kinko and they can print for you.
Happy Valentines day everyone! xxoo
