Earlier this week we had an unusually warm day for January so we decided to visit Hampton Park in downtown Charleston and run among the camellia trees. As soon as we got out of the car, Liam turned to me with those big brown eyes of his, so full of curiosity and always with so much to say, and he exclaimed
“Mommy the flowers are back! I remember these from last year. The flowers came back again!”
It was in that moment that I realized Liam was having a true memory. Not one brought on by words or photographs but something he was truly remembering. A beautiful memory that he had tucked away in the back of his mind and nearly a year later he found again. I thought to myself, what a crazy but magical thing it must be the first time you discover a memory. And as we ran from one camellia tree to the next, I prayed that I would always remember this moment in time. Running wild with my children, little boy with the big beautiful brown eyes, and the rows and rows of camellia flowers that all bloomed again this year, just for him.
Valentines Day is a special day in our home not only because it is a great chance to celebrate love, but it is also both Liam and Bear’s birthdays! (Yes they have the same birthday, February 14th, three years apart). So wild. So for the past five years, Valentines day has been filled with birthday balloons, Thomas The Train themed cakes, and all things blue. But this year we decided to dress for the holiday a little bit early! I have pulled together a few other really fun “looks for boys” for Valentines Day in case you have some wild boys of your own who love a good holiday themed outfit!
Shop these looks:
red gingham longalls // be mine tee // Loved sweatshirt // vintage red button down // denim sweetheart hat // airplane +hearts pajamas // love sweatsuit set // red stripe shortalls // mauve striped sweater // pink seersucker romper // Lover Boy tee //
Liam is wearing a Janie and Jack shirt and Bear’s “Mon Coeur” shirt was handmade by me using this tutorial!
I hope you all have a beautiful, wonderful, and love filled Valentines Day this year! xx Priscilla
