i have a big announcement i am excited to share today! before i do so, i wanted to quickly mention you may have noticed my blog has moved. “The Hopeful Wanderers” is now “Priscilla T. Brown.” my family and i are still forever hopeful (although not as much wandering is happening these days), but it made sense to change the blog name officially to priscillatbrown.com. this change happened mostly due to the big venture that i am happy to announce with you today…
I WROTE AND PUBLISHED A BOOK!
it still feels very surreal but yes i wrote a book! this book has been years in the making and something that i haven’t talked too much about. there were times when i didn’t think it would ever happen. but after years of writing and a year of self editing, it has now passed through the hands of my editor, proof readers, my cover illustrator, a layout designer, and it is now headed to the printers!
the book, titled waiting on the universe is a collection of modern poems adapted from my notes, letters, and journal entries written over years of infertility, written to a child who i wasn’t sure would ever exist. i filled my journal with writing as a way to get through the hard times as we struggled to get pregnant, went through fertility treatment, and after our first miscarriage. i shared some of my writing with friends in an infertility support group and one day a friend said to me “you should write a book.” i decided on that day if my words could help another person it would be worth it to give it a shot.
my wish is that the book will bring comfort, support, and hope to anyone who needs it. to let them know they are not alone. just like everything i have done, joining support groups, writing my blog, sharing content on instagram…if i can positively impact even one person than it is worth it.
perhaps one day i will share the entire process of writing a book. how i turned a notebook full of words into an actual book. there are so many moving pieces and parts, but it is so exciting to finally be reaching the finish line!
the book is currently being printed and will be available for pre-sale here on priscillatbrown.com in August and then for sale on Amazon.com in early fall! so stay tuned!
